The 5Zigen N1R DIV.3 were one of the prominent JDM Wheels of the 90’s. More commonly called the 5Zigen DIV3, the 5Zigen N1R DIV.3 were mid range JDM wheels in terms in pricing due to its one piece cast construction. Most commonly, you would see the 5Zigen DIV3 mounted to Honda Civic and Acura Integra, but as pictured fitments were available for Toyota MR2 Sw20, Mazda Miata NA, Nissan 240sx s13, and Nissan Primera. The Toyota Century is the car you get chauffeured in if you are a dignitary, diplomat or even the president. The Century made its debut in 1967 and didn’t get a redesign until 1997; now in 2018 we get its latest redition. The most noteable change, and a very popular automotive trend lately is the “downgrade” in powertrain. The SSR Casablanca 8 are JDM Wheels by Japanese wheel manufacturer SSR Wheels. This beautiful set of SSR Casablanca 8, sit nicely on an aired out Toyota Starlet KP61. More interestingly, this KP61 Starlet made its way to Long Beach, CA all the way from Hawaii to attend the 2017 Japanese Classic Car Show (JCCS 2017)! Dressed in TOM’S RACING livery this Toyota Starlet was definitely a crowd pleaser.
The AME Windmuhle are Old School JDM Wheels that resemble a turbine. The AME Windmuhle, which are higher end version of the Enkei EK90 JDM Wheels, fearure a lightweight one piece construction with covered lug nuts behind a center cap. AME Wheels used feature higher end Enkei Wheels, but are now produced elsewhere. Pictured are the AME Windmuhle mounted on an EA series Honda Civic, and in the background sits a 70s Chevrolet Camaro.
The RE Amemiya AW-7 are JDM Wheels made exclusively for the Mazda RX-7 FD3s. The RE Amemiya AW-7 a feature a rounded 5 spoke face bolted to an aluminum barrel in 2 piece construction. The RE Amemiya AC987 is a bodykit for the Mazda RX-7 FD3s made in conjunction with Greddy, as it is also known as the RE Amemiya Super GReddy Body Kit. The RE Amemiya AC987 / RE Amemiya Super GReddy changes the RX-7’s looks with fixed Porsche style headlights in lieu of the factory pop up lights.
Riverside Super River is one of the rarest of the rare in JDM Wheels. The Riverside Super River looks like someone took an impeller wheel out of a giant turbo and made a 2 piece jdm wheel out of it.The Riverside Super River are mounted to this familiar and beautiful KPGC110 Nissan Skyline.These Riverside Super River looked flawless, a view that I have never seen in person before. I wonder if those are original specs on these old school JDM Wheels. These wheels are definitely my highlight of JCCS 2017.
Although there is a nice s14 Nissan Silvia on Modex KS-05R pictured; my favorite items on this page are the Modex Dori Dori wheels more commonly known as the SSR Dori Dori Mesh, and the Modex Keiichi Tsuchiya Steering Wheel pictured below. The Modex Dori Dori / SSR Dori Dori Mesh are a gorgeous 2 piece (really 3 piece welded) wheel with split spoke mesh face and stepped SSR Formula barrels. The Modex Keiichi Tsuchiya Steering Wheel is a rare cool piece from the drift king with slanted spokes much like a Nardi Side Spoke steering wheel. Also noted is there are 3 versions os the Modex KS-05 wheel. It seems the main difference of the Modex KS-05 and the Modex KS-05R is the slanted lip on the Modex KS-05R and the squared off lip on the Modex KS-05; with that being said there is the Modex KS-CE which has an extended stepped lip.
